What are the installation do’s and don’ts for electrical engineers working with Verv isolators?
When installing Verv 3-phase or single-phase isolators, it’s important to follow precise guidelines to ensure device safety, functionality, and long-term reliability. Below are the key do’s and don’ts in the correct installation sequence.
Do’s
- Always read the user manual first before beginning installation.
- Ensure the electricity supply is turned off, isolated & locked off at the source before handling any electrical components.
Only use the two bottom drill-through holes for the 3-phase isolator.
- Avoid running wires on the right side of the 3-phase isolator. This area contains the LED and touch sensor, which must remain unobstructed.
- For the single-phase isolator, use the top two and bottom left drill-through holes for wiring.
- The bottom left hole is close to the user button, so care is needed during setup.
- Always use protective plastic shielding when installing metal glands.
- For 25mm holes, place the plastic shield on the bottom outer side wall of the isolator and mark the holes accordingly.
- Use a pilot drill first, then proceed with a circular hole cutter or step drill bit for final hole sizing.
- Before wiring the 3-phase isolator or putting the shield inpalce, ensure the SD cards are properly secured inside the unit.
Don’ts
- Do not remove the SD cards from the device under any circumstance.
- Do not use a power drill or impact driver on the screw terminals or the device enclosure—this can cause internal damage or compromise the integrity of the housing.
