# What setup prerequisites and tools are required for installing a Verv Connect device, especially for electrical engineers?

Before installing a Verv Connect device, electrical engineers should ensure they have the correct tools and electrical setup to support a smooth and safe installation. Here's a checklist of prerequisites and required tools:

#### **Tools Required:**

- Power drill
- Circular hole cutting drill bit or **step drill bit** (20mm–25mm)
- **Multimeter**
- **Phillips screwdriver**
- **Standard flathead screwdriver**

#### **Electrical Requirements:**

- Ensure **both live and neutral supply** and an earth is available
- For **3-phase installations**, all **three phases plus a neutral** are required 
    - *Note:* A three-phase motor **without a neutral supply** is **not compatible** with the Verv 3-phase smart isolator
    - Note: It is possible to run a three phase isolator as a single phase isolator by connecting to L1, Neutral & Earth

Verifying both the toolset and electrical conditions before installation will help avoid delays and ensure safety compliance during setup.
